In the south west regions of Somalia which the city of Baioda is their capital, locate the most arable and grazing land in Somalia. The residents of these regions suffer from periodic droughts because of the ignorance of utilizing the suitable agricultural land and the pastures that Allah bestowed to these people who reside these regions. Thus, Upper Jubba University was established to cover the educational need of these areas, and to solve the periodic droughts and utilize the resources. Upper Jubba University (UJU) is an upcoming private university located in Baidoa, Somalia founded 8th August 2014. Pursuit to its commitment to meet the rising need for higher education in the region, the university has embarked on laying down the required infrastructure and academic programs that are innovative, market driven and responsive to the need of the Somalis to be offered on full time, institutional based, weekend, evening and distance learning modes.
